Friday the 13th -- a bad day for lawyers

Today has been a tough day for local lawyers, as signified by three stories from the Business Journal:

1.     Once among the handful of largest firms in town, Gallop Johnson is (likely) now winding down -- story at http://bit.ly/IB8Tu0 (Missouri Lawyers Weekly has more of the story at http://bit.ly/HG0MYW and http://bit.ly/IPxEwW , but for members only)

2.      Lawyer Martin Sigillito was convicted on 20 counts relating to a $66M Ponzi Scheme, story at http://bit.ly/Hxom9Q

3.     Lawyer Edward Griesedieck pled guilty to misappropriation for making a political contribution, then charging the contribution to a client who knowingly paid it -- story at http://bit.ly/HJjzCu

All in all, a pretty bad week for Missouri's lawyers.
