Paralegal helps entrap opposing counsel in DUI
Would you ask your paralegal to help entrap opposing counsel in a DUI? Shocking, but apparently this may be exactly what happened in Tampa. A firm's paralegal had drinks at a bar with opposing counsel in a defamation trial while a firm lawyer tipped off police that someone who drank and then drove was at the bar. The opposing counsel was arrested, and his trial bag was in the firm's possession for about 20 hours. They're talking a Rule 4.4 violation. I suspect a charge for potential violation of Rule 8.4 may also be coming.
