The Missouri Supreme Court has updated the redaction rules for court filings including through Case.Net. The aim is to provide greater clarity and uniformity to redaction requirements.

Highlights of the updated Rules include:

• Limiting when court records can be sealed (Court Operating Rule 2.03)
• Identifying more narrowly what information may be redacted (Court Operating Rule 4.24)
  • Date of birth, SSN, driver’s license number
  • Credit card and financial account numbers
  • Identifying information for minors and those protected by court order
• Providing that transcripts of open proceedings no longer require redactions
• Not requiring CRIFs when the unredacted document is filed concurrently with redacted document
